This presentation reflects on a two year journey for Early Learning educators, children and families at The Geelong College, exploring and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives authentically into our program. One of our goals has been to explore a big idea collaboratively, connecting children and educators across year levels. We also focussed on developing and strengthening our relationship with our local Aboriginal community, which led to the development of our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We worked through this process with Narragunnawali, Reconciliation Australia’s platform for promoting reconciliation in education settings throughout Australia.
Led by Ros Molyneux, Director of Early Learning, and the team in the Early Learning Centre, this presentation will highlight the work undertaken to date and share examples of teacher and student learning.
