Returning talk to students that have previously taken part in the Cognizance Research Project, Dr Cooney Horvath will talk about to use the learning tools they have been given.

Year 10 “The Learning Process” Having worked with Jared last year as part of the Cognizance Research Project, our Year 10 cohort will leverage their understanding from last year to learn about how humans actually learn – the processes that underlies learning, and what makes a difference to the way we process information.

Year 11 “Approaches to Learning” In two sessions, the students will explore both the science that underpins cognition and our learning, as well as a range of specific tools to maximise the effectiveness of their approach to learning and study in the VCE. Topics include memory, studying techniques such as interleaving practice, and the importance of sleep for learning.

Year 12 “Approaches to Learning – Refresher” Our Year 12 students spent several hours with Jared last year looking at the neuroscience of their own learning and study. This brief session will remind them of that content, and provide them with a chance to ask questions and recalibrate habits for Year 12.
