Dr. Helen Street
Listen here:

Student Wellbeing Director Joan Gill, chats with Dr. Helen Street about the risk of serious mental illness in youth and that wellbeing programs in schools are gaining more and more importance.

Dr. Helen Street’s book Contextual Wellbeing challenges the effectiveness of wellbeing approaches that are limited to building the social and emotional competencies of individual students. Instead she argues that we need to look more broadly at the social context of our students, the school culture that they encounter, and the values inherent in the policies and procedures that drive that culture. Dr Helen Street is Founder and Chair of The Positive Schools Initiative and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Graduate School of Education, University of Western Australia.
